The Role

Our site is seeking suitable qualified and experienced Process Engineers to join our highly skilled team in a number of departments. The principal accountabilities of the Process Engineer role include:

  • Participate in daily process operations by analysing process data, reviewing data collection, and observing work practices to determine if current process operations meet established standards and meet physical requirements of the process
  • Work with the Specialist / Superintendents to direct activities within the department relating to operational requirements
  • Provide support and training to Crew Leaders and team members on the technical aspects / requirements of their role
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Review and develop Control and Response plans
  • Lead improvement projects to improve site emissions performance, improve production and HSE outcomes

The Person

To be considered for this role it is essential that you are able to display evidence of:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Lead by example in all aspects of the role. Using diplomacy and open communication skills to influence direct and encourage employee input and behaviour
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills – including the use of Lean / Six Sigma tools
  • Demonstrated ability to rigorously analyse data and provide solutions to process issues
  • Excellent MS Office suite, literacy, numeracy and report writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills

The successful candidate will possess a relevant Engineering Degree (Chemical Engineer preferred) combined with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar metal processing heavy industrial environment.
