The Reduction team works closely with our smelting operations to maximise cash flow through improving the performance and efficiency of their operations by the development and deployment of technological improvement. Additionally, the team aims to provide technical support to PacAl’s smelter operations including support for technology transfer and deployment.

Based in Brisbane, you will be accountable for: 

  • Leading reduction focused technical support projects across all smelter operations
  • Deliver reduction cell design and operational support to sites as well as support to other corporate stakeholders
  • Develop and transfer best practice processes and procedures between sites
  • Establish a technical network between sites and other external technical contacts enabling access to relevant expertise and developments 

As the successful applicant, you will be ideally tertiary qualified in Chemical / Process Engineering or similar with demonstrated experience within the aluminium reduction process. You will have demonstrated experience working within a technical support role within a smelter or corporate environment. You will also possess the ability and willingness to travel to operational sites across Australia and New Zealand. You will demonstrate excellent communication, project management skills and a high attention to detail.
