Bell Bay Aluminium  is part of the Rio Tinto Group, a global leader in aluminium, one of the world’s most widely used metals.

Based approximately 50 kilometres from Launceston in Northern Tasmania, the smelter commenced production in 1955 and was the first aluminium smelter built in the southern hemisphere. Bell Bay Aluminium is seeking applications for an Electrician.

You will be required to work a 12 hour continuous day and night shift roster.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • An electrical trade qualification and licence
  • Industrial fault finding experience
  • Knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations
  • Ability to work safely, autonomously and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to read and understand/modify electrical schematic drawings
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical principles
  • Excellent workmanship and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Additional skills that would be well regarded:

  • Knowledge of SAP maintenance system
  • PLC and industrial automation experience
  • Air-conditioning or refrigeration qualification
